WebMar 15, 2016 · Septins are implicated in microtubule-dependent transport, but their roles are unknown. Here we describe a novel interaction between KIF17, a kinesin 2 family motor, and septin 9 (SEPT9). We show that SEPT9 associates directly with the C-terminal tail of KIF17 and interacts preferentially with the extended cargo-binding conformation of KIF17. WebSeptins are conserved cytoskeletal GTP-binding proteins identified in almost all eukaryotes except higher plants. Mammalian septins comprise 13 family members with either …

Web人体内编码septins蛋白的基因有13种,根据序列相似性,分为SEPT2、SEPT3、SEPT6和SEPT7四个亚家族。SEPT7亚家族仅包含Septin7(Sept7)一个成员。Sept7位于染色 … Septins are P-Loop-NTPase proteins that range in weight from 30-65 kDa. Septins are highly conserved between different eukaryotic species. They are composed of a variable-length proline rich N-terminus with a basic phosphoinositide binding motif important for membrane association, a GTP-binding … See more Septins are a group of GTP-binding proteins expressed in all eukaryotic cells except plants. Different septins form protein complexes with each other. These complexes can further assemble into filaments, rings and … See more Since their discovery in S. cerevisiae, septin homologues have been found in other eukaryotic species, including filamentous fungi. Septins in filamentous fungi display a variety of different shapes within single cells, where they control aspects of filamentous See more The septin localized in the mitochondria is called mitochondrial septin (M-septin).
