If I interpreted what I read correctly, the phosphate is why the oxpho tends to be more durable than the other cold blues - the phosphate chemically bonds to steel somewhat better than the copper does.

I have talked to some people and they said it does a nice job and is easy if you take your time it will make the gun look nice again. WebMay 28, 2024 · My vote would go to Oxpho Blue (Brownell's). Applied correctly to degreased steel it is tough and looks good. Follow directions and apply to a warm surface for best results.
