Nettet6. jan. 2014 · CramFS. CRAMFS - A compressed read-only file system for Linux. The maximum size of CRAMFS is 256MB. "Linear Cramfs" is the name of a special feature to use uncompressed file, in a linear block layout with the Cramfs file system. This is useful for storing files which can be executed in-place. Nettetcramfs is designed to be simple and small, and to compress things well. It uses the zlib routines to compress a file one page at a time, and allows random page access. The meta-data is not compressed, but is expressed in a very terse representation to make it use much less diskspace than traditional filesystems.
