Hello, I have a continious problem with my Phenom II X4 940 cooler heatsink retention bracket (that sits between motherboard and the cooler on 4 screws) - it keeps breaking one (the same) hook every 2 weeks - 2 months depending on the used bracket. In general over 5 brackets were broken already.

Consider this - IF you would be sucessful melting these together, you'd have CPU die - melted together heatsink. Instead of melting why not just remove the heat shield - then you have cpu die - heatsink.
